Online Library

What is the Online Library?

The Online Library is an electronic library containing read-only PDF versions of most recent public policy research developed by the IRC. For a fee, you can also access textbooks and publications drawn from the curriculum of the American Institute for CPCU and the Insurance Institute of America.

How do I access the Online Library?

You can access the IRC Online Library through the Institute's Web site at http://www.aicpcu.org/students/pdbintro.htm. The IRC Online Library is a free service, however, a login identification number and PIN are required for access (please contact Customer Service at 1-800-644-2101 to set up your login number and PIN). The publications contained in the IRC Library are watermarked and available for viewing only. Hard copies of all publications are also available for purchase.

How do I use the Online Library?

To view publications in the database once you have logged in, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 installed on your computer. You can download Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe Web site at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.

The Online Library offers the search and "drill-down" capabilities of an internet site, using logic which most individuals are familiar with. There is, however, an "Online Library Help" document offered within the library itself or by clicking here. (Acrobat Reader required). This document will guide you on how to locate specific topics, search for key words, and view publications. The "Online Library Help" document can be viewed on screen or printed for handy reference.

What if I have questions while I am using the Online Library?

If you need assistance at any point while using the Online Library, call our customer service department at 1-800-644-2101 or send an email message to library@cpcuiia.org
